Purple Palette    $90.00    Sold out

Need bottled ink or refills?

The name I've given this lovely pen is something of a misnomer, as the beautiful multi-hued resin reflects a number of colors, including blue, black and coral. This lovely, variegated appearance immediately reminded me of the paint splotches on an artist's palette or drop cloth.

Measuring 5-1/4" capped, and a full 6" posted, the pen nevertheless feels like a 'mid-sized' model to me, due to it's nicely tapered, but fairly slim girth for a pen of this size. The wide center band (mostly on the barrel, but with a thin ring at the cap bottom) is engraved with 'Hero' in script, and underneath that '2016'. The design of the band itself is quite reminiscent of that on the S. T. Dupont Olympia/Orpheo. The gold-plated highlights are carried through on the clip (engraved with the Hero 'H' logo), clip band, and crowning gold 'jewel' atop the cap.

Removing the slip cap reveals a two-toned, 14K gold nib, which I would rate as a European fine in width. The nib is engraved with the 'H' logo, attractive scrollwork, and 'Hero 14K'. The pen comes with a removable large capacity pump filler for bottled ink (in gold plate), which can be replaced with Parker-style ink cartridges. The pen comes gift-boxed in Hero's new gold, cushioned gift box, and like all of the new Hero gold-nibbed pens, comes with a lifelong 'permanent' guarantee (the pen must be returned to Shanghai by the customer for warranty work, as there is no official Hero distributor in the United States).

This is a really lovely pen, and quite different from any previous Hero models.

Warranties and returns

If an item proves to be defective, in most cases the manufacturer's warranty will apply. However, please email us first so that we can determine the easiest way to resolve the problem to your satisfaction. In the case of fountain pens -- which are a bit more individualistic than other writing instruments -- what may at first appear to be a defect (hard starting or poor flow for example), can in almost all cases be resolved with a few simple 'tweaks' to the nib, which we'll be happy to guide you through or perhaps suggest returning to us for adjustment.

Should you wish to return a non-defective item within 3 days of receipt because it doesn't suit you for some reason, again please email us and we'll arrange an exchange, credit or refund (minus any shipping/insurance charges), if the item is returned in an 'as new' condition. If you've dipped a fountain pen to try its writing characteristics, kindly clean off any ink residue prior to shipping -- to save us both a nasty surprise .

We want you to be happy with your purchase from His Nibs.com and hope to have you join the ranks of our many long-term, repeat customers!
