"Norman, just returned from a business trip and
received the Mega LE and it is wonderful. Hope you have had a chance to see/use
one. I am guessing that this might me the 1st of many LE for the Mega."
Mega Limited Edition Mega replacement front sections/tips Threaded ink converter $6.00
Sized the same as the smaller, regular edition Mega burgundy pen (still a
full-sized model!), the limited edition version measures 5-1/4" capped
and 5-3/4" posted. The complete production run of this pen has been limited to
1999 pieces (the year that Monteverde began) and each pen is
numbered on the metal ring near the bottom of the barrel. Dealers are not given
the option of selecting specific numbers, so what's included in my upcoming
order will be a random selection, number-wise (and as I don't open the
shrink-wrapped boxes prior to shipping, will remain a mystery until you receive
it!
The bright, canary-yellow color of the pen in its regular configuration makes for a cheerful and not-to-be-missed statement either in use or when gracing one's pocket. Regular configuration bears some additional explanation however, as the pen not only comes with a yellow cap and front tip section to complement the bright and beautiful barrel, but also comes with a black cap and tip section as well! This enables you to mix n' match the look of your pen, and create an entirely different look to you pen if you so choose. So, depending upon your mood, go with an all yellow configuration: yellow with a black front tip section; yellow with a black cap; or yellow with a black cap and black front tip section. The complete set actually comes with three extra front sections (two yellow, one black), both a yellow and a black cap, a bottle of Monteverde black ink, ink cartridges and an ink converter for bottled ink. From the Monteverde booklet that is enclosed with the pen: Mega™ Inkball™ point: The world's first fountain pen with a rollerball tip and tungsten carbide ball. The Mega™ Inkball™ writing system gives you the ink flow of a fountain pen with the convenience and control of a rollerball. Each Inkball™ point will last about one kilometer of writing! Filling system: The Mega™ Inkball™ draws ink just like a fountain pen. It can be filled through the Mega™ point, used with a converter or with a standard international ink cartridge. Clip: Mega™ specific design with heavy-duty spring-loaded, color matched jewelry-grade chromium mask. Cap & body: Hand-turned, high-density acrylic resins, close tolerance threads for secure closing and engineered Mega™ colors for a luxurious look. Trim: Strategically placed and color matched jewelry-grade chromium. Packaging: The unique presentation box has lacquered wood accents and a magnetic closure system. An engraved velvet cover reveals the Mega™ kit, which includes: a Mega™ Inkball™ writing instrument, a bottle of highest quality MonteVerde™ ink and 3 extra point sections. I would add that the full-sized ink converter screws into the pen's section for added security, and the multiple points allow for easier switching between ink colors, especially if cartridges are used (no rinsing of the converter in that case). The included Monteverde ink is black, but I think we can get a little more creative than that here. These are really handsome pens...even if they don't have nibs! Simple in design and shape, with a very comfortable feel in the hand. Despite their size, they're light weight, so writing is fatigue-free. In fact, due to their ergonomic, slightly bulbous shape, I've found using the MEGA to be a very pleasurable experience in extended writing sessions.

Warranties and returns If an item proves to be defective, in most cases the manufacturer's warranty will apply. However, please email us first so that we can determine the easiest way to resolve the problem to your satisfaction. In the case of fountain pens -- which are a bit more individualistic than other writing instruments -- what may at first appear to be a defect (hard starting or poor flow for example), can in almost all cases be resolved with a few simple 'tweaks' to the nib, which we'll be happy to guide you through or perhaps suggest returning to us for adjustment. Should you wish to return a
non-defective item within 3 days of receipt because it doesn't suit
you for some reason, again please email us and we'll arrange an
exchange, credit or refund (minus any shipping/insurance charges),
if the item is returned in an 'as new' condition. If you've dipped a
fountain pen to try its writing characteristics, kindly clean off
any ink residue prior to shipping -- to save us both a nasty
surprise We want you to be happy with your purchase from His Nibs.com and hope to have you join the ranks of our many long-term, repeat customers!
